For Monday's Class

What I'm listening to while I wrote your Core 2 Assignment Sheet.

For Monday's Class, read "Writing the Music Paper" from Dartmouth College as a way to learn about how we will write our next paper. Also, make sure you find 3 albums that were released before you were born to review, 3 places you would like to visit that you have never visited before, and be ready to discuss them on Monday's Class. You will have a quiz that is about all 3 things.

Final Draft: February 1-->10%

Section 2: Travelogue in Music

1^st Draft Due: February 8/ → 2%

Peer Draft: February 22 → 3%

Final Draft: February 25 → 10%

Section 3: Compare/Contrast Depictions of Songs/Covers/Remixes

1^st Draft: February 27 → 2%

Section 4: Social Commentary on Visual Representations of Music

Final Exam: Class Soundtrack (10%)

For your final exam, you will make a remix for the class which you will present as a way to discuss key components of each of your papers. Your remix will be 1-2 minutes long and the rest of the time will be spent explaining and breaking down that 1-2 minutes.

Writing Lab Assignments (10%)

Each lab assignment will be used to build on your paper and to also segue into the next class.

Class Participation: (10 %)

Homework, quizzes, and attendance as well as giving insightful points about our readings will contribute to your overall 10%.
