This is what I'm listening to while grading your papers. Labi Siffre was sampled/inspired some of the best hits by Eminem, Kanye West, and Jay Z. Well worth listening to a playlist of his work for some chill British 70s soul music that Lavina Green talked about in the earlier interview.
Here is a list of different ideas to get you started on your 1st draft due on Friday:
Write one page of something you can't deny about music.
Write one page about the first time your heard your favorite song.
Write one page of what got left behind or things you gained when you started listening to music.
Write one page of something you wrote or did that you no longer understand because of music.
Write one page of apologizing for something you did because of music.
Write one page about an appreciation for a type of music you are proud to have inherited or passed on.
Write one page of a song, album or something music-related you had to have.
Write one page of humiliating exposure where music was involved.
Write one page about a time when you felt empathy or compassion unexpectedly because of music.
Write one page about why you listen to a certain type of music.
Write one page of when music got you into trouble.
